External and private students can register for the exam through Form No. 17. This form can also be filled by those students who have dropped out of school due to social, economic, family or personal problems.
Center’s arbitrariness regarding board exam form
SSC and SSC exams are going to be held in Maharashtra in February-March 2023. Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has the responsibility to conduct these exams. But the external and private students who have registered for the exam are facing huge difficulties in filling the examination form. Many students are being asked for extra money by the exam center in the schools chosen by them. Due to the arbitrary money being demanded by the exam centers, the students are facing a lot of problems.
External and private students can register for the exam through Form No. 17. This form is also useful for those students who have dropped out of school due to social, economic, family or personal problems.
6000 rupees demanded from students
A 17-year-old student, who did not wish to be named, said, “I had filled the form online and had also paid the examination fee by visiting a cyber cafe. When I went to a junior college to submit my forms for the verification process, I was asked to pay Rs 6000. The student said, ‘I could not pay the fees and went to another junior college in Nana Peth. There too, they asked for Rs 500 but at least I got a chance to submit my exam form.
Exam form not getting submitted
Pratiksha Hawala, an activist at Manodaya Kendra, Shivajinagar, said that many students were not allowed to submit their forms in schools or junior colleges. He told, ‘There are many students, who went away from the education system due to social and economic problems. There is one such 17-year-old student, who is re-appearing in class 10th. The college did not allow him to submit the exam form citing lack of seats.
Pratiksha further said, ‘The student was asked to try at a college center in Alandi. His parents asked him to leave his studies. It is very sad that when we try to reconnect such students with education, such problems make the situation more difficult.
