New Delhi: Corona is making new records daily in the country. According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there has been an increase of 9% in new cases today compared to the cases reported on Thursday. Today 3,47,254 new cases of corona have been reported in the country.
With this, the total number of cases of the highly transmissible variant Omicron in the country has reached 9,692.
According to the data released by the ministry, 703 people have died due to this virus in the last 24 hours, out of which 341 people have died in Kerala alone. The death toll from this epidemic in the country has increased to 4,88,396.
India’s active caseload has crossed 20 lakhs to 20,18,825 currently, the share of active cases in the total cases has increased from five per cent to 5.23%. While the daily positivity rate has once again increased to 17.94%.
Along with this, 1,60,43,70,484 crore vaccine doses have been given so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign. In the last 24 hours, 70,49,779 people have been vaccinated.
The recovery rate is currently 93.50%. With 2,51,777 being cured in the last 24 hours, the number of people recovering from this epidemic has increased to 3,60,58,806.
According to the data released by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 19,35,912 sample tests have been done for corona virus in India yesterday i.e. on January 20. With this, a total of 71,15,38,938 sample tests have been done till yesterday.
