New Delhi: Amidst the third wave of corona, the country has completed one year of corona vaccination today. On this day on January 16, 2021, the vaccination of health workers and frontline workers was started in the country, since then the process of giving corona vaccines is going on. So far 157 crore doses of the vaccine have been administered in the country.
So far, a population of about 65 crores in the country has received both the doses. That is, about 69 percent of the people have got both doses of the corona vaccine. Whereas till now 87 crores have got the first dose. That is, about 92 percent of the population has got the first dose. Whereas till now 3 crore children have got their first dose.
However, it is a matter of concern that 8 percent of the population in the country is such, which has not received a single vaccine so far. At the same time, 31 percent of the population is such, who have not yet received both the vaccines.
On this occasion, BJP National President JP Nadda said that ‘Exactly a year ago, India started the difficult journey of vaccinating its more than 135 crore people in the midst of the dreaded COVID epidemic. This seemingly impossible task was made possible under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The world stood up and applauded us. India has given 156 crore vaccine doses so far, out of which 99 crore doses have been given in rural India. 70% of our adult population is fully vaccinated. More than 3 crore children have received their first dose since the program started.
Let us tell you that due to the high population, still 33 percent of the population in the country has not been vaccinated. The total population of the country is 138 crore, in which only 90 crore have received the first dose, that is, 48 crore people are still to be vaccinated.
