In line with the global vision of increasing green cover, SVPIA as part of its current initiative has planted over 2,000 trees of around 20 different species at the airport. Just before privatization a year ago the airport had around 6000 trees and now in a short span of 1 year it has increased to 8000 in which only 2000 trees have been added in one year. To add to the green cover and reduce the carbon footprint, SVPI Airport is taking several initiatives, one of them being to increase greenery inside and outside the terminal buildings.

In a period of 1 year of privatization, the airport has added about 2000 square meters of bush area and 1200 square meters of green cover by using lawns. With the proactive efforts of SVPI Airport, greenery has grown and is getting closer to the goal of better sustainable development through various programs for a greener future.

It is not only a matter of increasing greenery, planting bushes and trees in SVPIA, but also implementing environmental standards and controls, creating green infrastructure, reducing noise pollution, adopting sustainable best practices, developing fuel efficiency, energy and water There is also a global approach to ensuring sustainable practices at all levels, including employing a resource conservation policy related to and systematic recycling.

In the near future, a green cover consisting of 20,000 trees is planned, including 10,000 sqm of shrubs and 20,000 sqm of green carpet lawn landscape.
