Guwahati-Bikaner Express Accident: Railway announces compensation of Rs 5 lakh for those who lost their lives in the accident, injured will get Rs 1 lakh

New Delhi: The Bikaner Express going from Rajasthan to Guwahati has met with an accident in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. In this accident, 12 coaches derailed and 4-5 coaches are expected to suffer heavy damage. tell that Train number 15633 Bikaner Express had left from Bikaner in Rajasthan on Tuesday night. On Thursday morning at 5:44 am, the train left Patna railway station and reached Kishanganj at 2 pm and left for Guwahati from there. The train crashed at around 5 pm.

Expressing grief over this incident, Railways has announced compensation for the families of the passengers who lost their lives in the accident. Announcing this on behalf of the North-East Frontier Railway, Guwahati, the Chief Public Relations Officer has said that a compensation of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the family of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh to the injured. For those with minor injuries, Rs 25,000 will be given as compensation.

Taking information related to this accident from Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Prime Minister Modi expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the accident and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

At the same time, President Ram Nath Kovind, while expressing condolences to the dead in this accident, has issued a statement on this accident that- The derailment of coaches of Bikaner-Guwahati Express near New Maynaguri in West Bengal is worrying. My condolences and prayers are with the affected passengers and their families. I wish the injured a speedy recovery.

Issuing a statement about this accident, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has issued a statement saying that the train crashed in front of New Jalpaiguri. Rescue work started immediately. I am leaving for the accident site now.

At the same time, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke to Union Railway Minister and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the derailment of Bikaner-Guwahati Express near Jalpaiguri; WB CM assures assistance at the ground level and will keep Assam Government updated on the current situation Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma is in touch with Ministry of Railways and monitoring the situation for relief and rescue operations

So far four people have been confirmed dead in this accident. DG NDRF Atul Karwal has issued a statement in this regard saying that 12 coaches have been derailed. 4 people have died and more than 50 people are injured who have been shifted to the hospital. 2 teams of NDRF have reached the spot.
