Hate speech: DM and SP urged to take precautionary action regarding proposed ‘Dharma Sansad’ in Aligarh

New Delhi: Last month, those who filed petitions in the Supreme Court for alleged hate speeches against Muslims and calling for their genocide during events organized by radical Hindutva people in some cities have written to the Aligarh District Magistrate asking them to ensure To take precautionary action that such speeches should not be given in one such program proposed in the city, as given in ‘Dharma Sansad’ held in Haridwar.

The Supreme Court had on January 12 asked the Centre, Delhi Police and Uttarakhand Police to respond to a plea that allegedly made hate speeches against Muslims during two events (Dharma Sansad) organized in Haridwar and the national capital recently. There was a demand for directions to ensure investigation and action against the givers.

A bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana, while issuing notice on the petition, said that the petitioners are free to make a representation regarding such incidents to the local authorities concerned.

The bench said this after senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for the petitioners, pointed out that a ‘Dharma Sansad’ is going to be held in Aligarh.

Sibal had argued that some more events are planned, in which there is a possibility of giving provocative speeches.

The petitioners, in a letter to the District Magistrate of Aligarh, in accordance with the liberty granted by the Supreme Court, have said that another ‘Dharma Sansad’ is now being organized in Aligarh on January 22-23, in which the re-speech of those Who had addressed the program organized in Haridwar between December 17-19 last year.

“It is the responsibility of the district administration to take precautionary measures to avoid any possible incident of mob violence and you are in-charge of the administration in Aligarh, hence it is the responsibility of the district administration to ensure that such speeches are not given,” the letter said. It is worth noting that ‘Sanatan Hindu Seva Sansthan’ has announced to organize ‘Sanatan Dharma Sansad’ on January 22-23 at Sanatan Bhawan located in Naurangabad, Aligarh. However, the district administration has denied having knowledge of any such program.

Further, a day after the Supreme Court order on ‘Dharma Sansad’ programmes, senior advocate Kapil Sibal on Thursday wrote to the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand governments to take preventive steps to check provocative speeches in several such programs proposed this month. have requested.

Sibal has sent copies of his letters to chief ministers, home secretaries and police chiefs of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, besides superintendents of police of Aligarh and Haridwar. A copy of this has also been sent to the Election Commission.

Sibal has written to the district magistrates of Aligarh and Haridwar urging them to take preventive measures including imposition of section 144 to prevent such events.

Sibal wrote in his letter, ‘We are in the process of assembly elections, we do not want to impose our intention on any person, but if such speeches are made in the middle of the elections, they will destabilize the social order and This will have serious consequences on the politics of the country.

Sibal further said in his letter, ‘We request you to take such preventive steps as may be necessary within your powers, which include Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and Sections 3 and 5 of the National Security Act, 1980. Huh.’

Jamiat urges Election Commission to ban proposed ‘Dharma Sansad’

Meanwhile, the country’s leading Muslim organization Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind on Thursday urged the Election Commission to put a stop to the proposed ‘Dharma Sansad’ in Aligarh next week, as the purpose of the event is to bring communal allegations and counter-allegations to a public discussion. to bring in.

According to the statement issued by the organization, Maulana Arshad Madani, the head of Jamiat, has demanded a ban on this event by giving an online report before the commission.

Jamiat says that he has also made this request to the District Magistrate of Aligarh.

This Muslim organization also mentioned in its report that the Supreme Court has sought a response from the Uttarakhand government in the matter of allegedly making inflammatory speeches in the ‘Dharma Sansad’ held in Haridwar in the past.

He said that such events should be banned during the assembly elections.

Earlier, some local citizens of Aligarh had demanded the government to stop the proposed Dharma Sansad.

It is known that between 17-19 December 2021 in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, ‘Dharma Sansad’ was organized by Hindutva leaders and fundamentalists, in which open hate speeches were allegedly given against Muslims and minorities, even That their massacre was also called.

Hardline Hindutva leader Yeti Narasimhananda was one of the organizers of this Dharma Sansad. Narasimhanand is already in the eyes of the police for giving hate speeches.

Yeti Narasimhanand, while making provocative statements against the Muslim society, said that he will give one crore rupees to the person who becomes ‘Hindu Prabhakaran’.

Two FIRs have been registered against 15 people in the case.

The first FIR was registered in this regard on 23 December 2021 after the controversy over the video of the event went viral, in which only Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi was named. Before leaving Islam and adopting Hinduism, Tyagi’s name was Wasim Rizvi.

The names of Swami Dharamdas and Sadhvi Annapurna alias Pooja Shakun Pandey were added to the FIR on 25 December 2021. Pooja Shakun Pandey is the Mahamandaleshwar of Niranjini Akhara and general secretary of Hindu Mahasabha.

After this, on January 1, the names of Yeti Narasimhanand and Sagar Sindhuraj Maharaj of Roorkee were included in this FIR.

On January 2, the state’s Director General of Police had also constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter. After that, on January 3, a second FIR was registered against 10 people in connection with the Parliament of Religions.

In the second FIR, the organizers of the event, Yeti Narasimhanand Giri, Jitendra Narayan Tyagi (earlier known as Wasim Rizvi), Sagar Sindhuraj Maharaj, Dharamdas, Parmanand, Sadhvi Annapurna, Anand Swaroop, Ashwini Upadhyay, Suresh Chavan and Prabodhanand Giri were named. Has been done.
