In a recent report, it has come to the fore that India’s passport has become stronger than before. According to the latest Henley Passport Index report, India has improved its passport ranking for the year 2022, rising seven places to 83rd position from 90th last year.

Indian passport holders can now travel to 59 destinations across the world including Oman (the newly added country) without obtaining a visa. India has added 35 more destinations to visa-free countries since 2006. The Henley Passport Index ranks all passports in the world according to the number of destinations their holders can reach without a prior visa. The index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

It was told in the report that Japan and Singapore have the first number of passports and their passport holders can reach 192 destinations without visa. Germany and South Korea are in second place with visa-free access to 190 destinations.

The Pakistani passport has been ranked as the fourth-worst passport for international travel for the third year in a row, local media reported on Thursday, citing the Henley Passport Index 2022 report. According to the report, Pakistani passport holders have visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 31 destinations across the world.

Afghan passport is at the bottom of the index of 199 passports. Please note that temporary restrictions are not taken into account in the index.
