New Delhi: Country’s leading DTH company Tata Sky (T)ata sky) The name has changed from today. The new name of the company is Tata Play. With this, now the company is going to expand its business by moving beyond Direct to Home (DTH). Along with this, the company has made Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor as its brand ambassadors. R Madhavan and Priyamani will promote it in South Indian states.
According to Harit Nagpal, MD and CEO of Tata Play, now Tata Play has also entered into other business like OTT and Broadband. During the last few years, Tata Sky has further strengthened its position in the DTH sector. According to the company, now the name of Tata’s broadband business has also been changed to Tata Play Fiber. Similarly, 13 major OTT apps are included on Tata Play Binge.
Harit Nagpal said that while DTH will continue to be their fastest growing and biggest business, OTT is also set to grow, and thus it is time for a brand recognition that goes beyond the DTH business.
With this change, the subscriber will get the benefit of television-cum-OTT in the Tata Play package. Actually, through Tata Play, now the company is going to add 13 OTT services. In which the subscriber will also get the facility of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney + Hotstar. The company has launched a combo pack of Rs 399 for this. From today, customers can add to their Tata Play account.
Let us tell you that Tata Sky currently has more than 19 million active customers. The company is now doing business in fiber-to-home broadband and binge apart from DTH service. Tata Sky started operations in 2004.
