Dombivali of Maharashtra was shaken by an accident on Thursday afternoon. Boiler exploded in Amber Chemical Company. Eight laborers died in the accident, while 48 laborers were injured. The pictures that emerged after the accident were disturbing. The boiler blast took place inside the company, but the nearby houses and shops also had to bear the brunt of it. Due to the blast, roofs of many houses were blown away, shutters of shops were uprooted and cracks appeared in the walls. Not only this, even the glass broke and fell. Seeing all this scene, people were scared for a moment. People felt as if an earthquake had occurred.
Boiler blast created panic in Amber Chemical Company located in MIDC Phase-2, Dombivali. The boiler blast occurred at around 1.30 pm. The people nearby were shocked by the four explosions one after the other. The blast was so powerful that an area up to two kilometers away shook. Buildings, houses and shops were damaged. 48 people have been injured in the accident. Eight people have died there. The injured are being treated in different hospitals. All of the deceased are laborers working in the company. Among the injured, some are company workers and some are local people.
After the blast in the company, the surrounding buildings, houses and shops also suffered a lot of damage. The roofs of the houses were blown off. The glass of the buildings broke into pieces, while the shutters of the shops were torn off. Actually, the roofs of most of the houses were made of cemented sheets. Due to this, during the blast, the cemented sheets got blown off the roofs and flew in the air. Their debris is scattered everywhere. After the blast, the glass of the gate of the hospital in Dombivli broke. Fortunately, there was someone at the gate at that time, due to which there were no casualties.
3 companies burnt to ashes
Due to this incident in Dombivali, three MIDC companies were burnt to ashes. The Amber Chemical Company in which the explosion took place was also completely burnt to ashes. Omega Chemical and KG Chemical companies nearby this company have also been burnt to ashes. More than 10 fire brigade vehicles are busy extinguishing the fire on the spot. The fire has not been brought under control yet. Along with extinguishing the fire, people trapped inside are also being searched to ensure that no one is trapped anywhere.
CM Shinde gave instructions to investigate the accident
Regarding the accident, CM Eknath Shinde tweeted on ‘X’ and wrote, “A major accident has occurred due to boiler explosion in Amber Chemical Company in Dombivali MIDC division. The District Magistrate has been directed to investigate the incident. The treatment of the injured in the accident is going on. The fire brigade and medical team have reached the spot and the rescue operation is going on rapidly. At present, priority has been given to the rescue work and after that action will definitely be taken against whoever is responsible for this accident.”
Regarding the accident, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said that after the blast, along with the fire brigade, NDRF team and all other rescue agencies have also reached here to control the fire that broke out in the company. Efforts to control the fire are ongoing.
