The Defense Ministry tweeted that it is helping the efforts by providing helicopters, tents, water tanks, sandbags and disaster relief personnel. Four villages in Nicolas Valcarcel area were most affected by the landslide.
“The situation is really bad in these four cities,” Arequipa’s governor, Rohel Sanchez, told Canal N television.
